My First Bunch Meeting

Okay, sorry I have not really been keeping up. So I promised I'd tell you more about "The Bunch" meeting. Here we go:

Okay, so the 22nd is apparently an "official" meeting day, unless there's something happening. That means tomorrow is a meeting day, too.
But anyways, October 22nd was my first meeting. We all met in the sitting room, and most of us (except for Felicity and Elizabeth, the two girls who always wear fancy dresses) sat on the floor. Also, Kit brought her desk chair and a pad of paper. She called the meeting to order and everyone was quiet, even Andi, and she is quite a blabbermouth. So the first thing that happened was they introduced me to the group. Andi came up with this very stupid Rite of Entry that had me doing weird stuff to get into the group and I swear, if Glee was on, I would have bolted. I am seriously such a Gleek now it's not even funny. And I am so glad that in the show they don't put songs as if the people were talking instead of talking: I absolutely can't stand when they do that in movies. That's why I've always hated Disney: well, that and the fact that Mickey Mouse was originally a creation to overthrow the Soviet Russian Government.
Anyways, so back to the meeting. I really don't think they have any idea what they should do. I mean, its nice that they try and all, but after they introduced me into the club, they really only went around and said what they did in school. Since I started school on November 2nd (there wasn't much room at Parkington Jr High, so we had to wait until some boy left the school for Florida), I didn't really contribute to the conversation. Then after that, they just thought of different ideas for Halloween. Only four of them dressed up: Chrissa was a book character named 'Emily Bennett'; Molly was Dorothy from 'The Wizard of Oz' (again, another 'talk-singing' musical that I can't stand); Andi was a pig (fits, doesn't it? She insisted she was 'swine flu', but she was too lazy to make wings and wore all pink and a tail.) and Kit was a boy.
Then after brainstorming ideas for Halloween, the "modern" girls talked about having a "Dress Like Your Doll" sleepover. I'm not so sure what they mean when they call themselves 'modern', but Chrissa and Nicki tried to include me in their discussion and I told them that I did not have a doll, and if I did, he would be an action figure and not a doll. Chrissa understood (Or at least she pretended to) and Andi and Nicki both rolled their eyes.
I don't really get on well with Nicki or Andi. Andi was rude to me since I moved here, and Nicki and I have clashing personalities and beliefs. Nicki also thinks that she is better than I am because I have no parents to send me gifts at birthdays and Christmas. Well, she hasn't told me that to my face, but I know she is thinking it.

After their discussion, the meeting was over. I returned to my room and kept reading Harry Potter.

Okay, so that was a month ago. Since then, we've had to unfortunately downsize a lot of our rooms (including the kitchen, Felicity and Elizabeth's room, and all the alcoves) so that She has more room for Her clothes and stuff.

Parkington Jr High is better than I expected it to be. Instead of having a whole bunch of random teachers throughout the day like I thought there would be, and thus, lots and lots of homework, I've only got one teacher for everything but P.E. and Drama. Other teachers teach those.
But my regular teacher's name is Ms Gale and she is actually pretty cool. Math is easier because she doesn't rush through it, like my old math teachers did, and she also answers every question. My Grade 7 math teacher only allowed three questions in class each day. Because I sat in the back then, I would never get to ask a question, and so I got 46% on the final report card.
And in English, which used to be really hard because I would switch from school to school and never get a chance to read the class novels or do a book report, we're going to read a book called "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland". Ms Gale says that even though it may be suitable for readers under 13, it is still a 'delightful book, full of fantasy and utter randomness.'
I'm serious. My 60-ish year old teacher actually said that. It's on this notice in front of me.
I told Kit and Molly about it, because I don't like talking to Andi or Nicki, Chrissa can't read full books, and Felicity and Elizabeth had no idea what the book was, and they have both heard of it. Molly actually remembers her Dad reading it to her when she was six. She recalls that she loved it, even though she doesn't remember what happened.

It seems like every school is doing book reading in English class now. Kit is doing a book report in her Grade 4 class on Robin Hood; Molly is reading "A Little Princess" in her third grade class and Nicki is reading "Little House On The Prairie" in her sixth grade class. No, I didn't ask her personally: her friend Hailey Bailey (no relation to me) has a sister who sits next to me in school, Kailey Bailey. Kailey loves to 'gab'. It's probably because she was most certainly named after some character from Dr Seuss.

Alright, well, I've got to go and make a Christmas wishlist. One thing that's great about having a blog is the ability to go on American Girl while still pretending to be blogging. :)

P.S:

Book I'm reading: I've finished HP2, and so now I've started scrounging for more books. There are a lot of older, vintage books that belong with Molly, Felicity and Kit, and Nicki has a Babysitter Club book. Other than that, and my Harry Potter books, there's only American Girl books. I've seen them on the site, especially when I'm looking for outfits and stuff, but I've never read them. They're pretty good: I have read "Brave Emily", "Meet Samantha" and "Nellie's Promise". I'm actually reading the latter now: I actually chose it because I though Nellie looks like a princess on the cover. I dunno, but I've always been kind of obsessed with princesses and princes. I guess when I was little, I envied that though many of their parents died or something, the princess or prince would kind of charm everyone and win over the bad guy. So princesses have kind of been my idol or role model ever since I was born. I don't tell anyone that because they might think I'm weird. I know I dress differently than the other girls and like to wear mismatched socks and hi tops, so naturally they might assume that I'm kind of an outcast or a rebel. Princesses aren't very rebelly. Huh. Maybe I should read that book Molly is reading in school.
Anyways, Nellie's Promise isn't a fantasy. Well, it could actually be, I guess. How many girls live with their aunt and uncle in NYC and have their best friend adopted as a sister?

Song I'm Listening To: So happy about this. The first Glee soundtrack came out a few weeks ago and She downloaded a couple songs, not only cause she knows how much of a Gleek I am, but also cause she loves it too. So I've been listening to the mash-up of "It's My Life / Confessions, Pt. II " because Fin sings it!!! I have such an obsession over Fin it isn't funny. I'm a 'Fin-girl' haha. But seriously, I normally can't even stand Usher and don't care much for Bon Jovi, but the song is always playing in my head. Seriously, it is great. Go download it.
