So I did just post a new blog less than an hour ago, but I wanted to just see what you thought of the new look of my background. I love purple, don't get me wrong, but I felt that maybe it was time that I got a new look for my blog. It's the closest I could get to aqua turquoise, which is my favorite color. I hate green, though, and am not so fond of pink. I like yellow and orange, too.
And I'm thinking of doing an FAQ soon: if you have any questions about me, or about my friends or family, or even random questions, then leave a comment below or send an e-mail to kitkittredge1932@gmail.com.
So sorry to interrupt your blog reading, dear lone reader. Don't hesitate to read my new post below.
So I took this blog after some girl moved out. My name is Delilah Bailey, and this is my life

Potter, Apocalypse, New Girls
Hey, wouldn't you know it? It's August.
Um, I've been super busy, what with school finishing, and my plethora of volunteer activities that I participate in to further enhance the amount of value I hold in my community.
Yeah, right.
In reality, I've been lazing around since April. I had two year end exams, but one was for English and it's pretty much an easy class for me (aside from dealing with my Mentil teacher) so I didn't study. And I still got an "A". My other exam was math, and let's just say I had the choice of doing math in summer school, or retaking Math 9. I chose to retake it in September, because it is just too hot to leave this place. What is with this weather? The end of June was breezy, and occasionally wet, but then comes July and now it's been sunny and dry for five weeks straight. And I don't know if you've ever faced hot weather during the summer, but sometimes it is so hot that I don't feel like getting out of bed in the morning. But I've had to for the past two weeks because I've been plant sitting for our neighbours. I know, I know. I'm 14 1/2 and I'm babysitting plants? But here's the reasoning: there is a thrift store two miles from downtown Pleasantville and they have the entire set of Harry Potter books. I already have the first two, but I've only ever read up to the middle of Phoenix. So I will buy those books, and I will finish the series in time for the movie in November.
On the same Potter note, my friend Jaycee, who is possibly more into Potter than I am, just came home yesterday. While she was at her cousin's, her cousin's best friend introduced Jaycee to some internet Potter musical. So now Jaycee is convinced that I will find it hilarious, and she wants me to watch both musicals with her soon. I've kept her off my back for the time being by telling her I should read the two and a half books that I haven't read before watching the musicals. But I just don't know how I feel about this musical. I mean, Harry Potter is one awesome thing, and musicals are another good thing. Truthfully, I only love Glee and cannot stand most other musicals, but I guess Glee cancels out the musicals I don't like and so I feel neutral about musicals. Let me put it this way: you won't see me at a Broadway show anytime soon, but you won't see me on youtube, vlogging about how musicals will cause 2012's destruction. (Which I think is baloney, of course. What do you think? Discuss.)
Okay, so I know that some of you, nay, my one reader, is curious about the new arrivals. Don't get your $24- $32 outfits in a twist, because they aren't that interesting. They aren't wealthy orphans from Mt Bedford 1904, or a Russian Jewish child of immigrants in New York 1914. There are three new arrivals: two that I mentioned in my last post, and a new one, who I think is a girl.
The 1900's-1910's girl is Virginia Cole. She's a 12 year old blue eyed blonde from southern New York state. She loves to read, is very quiet, and is best friends with Nicki.
The 1990's girl is Robin McCarthy, and she's my other best friend (Ivy is, and always will be, my first best friend.) She's 13, with freckles and green eyes. She hates her red hair, and really wants to dye it blonde (Her mother refuses to allow her.) Robin is a ton of fun, and loves music videos, Babysitter Club books, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. She wants to be a New Mousekateer or a pop star like Madonna. Good luck to her when she realizes that neither of those things exists anymore.
And finally, the newest girl took the place of sweet/ annoying 7 year old Chrissa Marie Charlotte Maxwell, the half sister of my apparent doppelganger Daphne Hepburn. Both girls live in Arizona with their aunt, so once Chrissa left, we needed someone to take her place. The person who came claimed to be a guy named James Paul Sherwood, and seemed like a cool guy. Until "James" turned out to actually be a girl, 13 years old, and as manipulative as a queen bee. Her name, coincidentally, is Chrissa Maxwell, and she looks pretty much just like the Old Chrissa. The only difference is that New Chrissa isn't Old Chrissa. New Chrissa is rude, she treats everyone terribly, she exaggerates a great deal, and nobody seems to care much that she acts this way. She plans to win a Tony, an Oscar and an Emmy, not to mention an "Honorary Grammy for not having to sing anything." by the age of 18. Good luck to her, because Pleasant County is on the Washington-Canadian border, and she's from South Dakota. And she's never been to either New York or to L.A. Though she claims otherwise.
So that's it for me this week, dear reader. I haven't much else to say: this summer's been like a Wednesday school day, and I suspect it isn't going to get much better. Although I heard that some of the girls here are planning to go to Camp Gowonagin, up at Piney Point, later this August. I think it would be kind of fun, though I'd have to go with Ivy and Robin.
Book I'm reading: Re-reading Chamber of Secrets: I've somehow misplaced my Philosopher's Stone and so I really own the one Harry Potter book: that is, until I buy the other five books at the thrift store, and then the whole series will be mine. Hahaha.
Music I'm listening to: Um, some Across The Universe stuff. It isn't mine, it's on Her iPod, so I can say I don't like Across The Universe that much. I used to, but now that I've decided I only really like music from Help! or from Rubber Soul, or from Revolver, ATU is irrelevent for me because it focuses more on the psycedelic Beatles.
Favorite Glee episode: "Dream On". What a great ending to a more-or-less terrific season. Plus, great guest star, am I right? Wait, this wasn't the season finale? Well...
Least Favorite Glee episode: A lot of the "Back Nine" (post- Idol) episodes were less than mediocre, which sucked, but I'd have to say that "Journey" was the worst. I won't give too much away, but the main focus of this episode was based on that one single they did a year ago that I never liked in the first place. Should have put 'Dream On' after 'Journey', or just remove 'Journey' from the entire show.

This is the face of adorable that Robin is obsessed over. On a completely separate note, do you know anyone crushing on someone who is 30 years old?

This is what my Ron Weasley looks like.

Though I certainly don't mind what Warner Brother's Ron Weasley looks like.

But this guy from the Harry Potter musicals looks nothing like my Ron, or Mr Awesome Grint. Let's list some anachronisms (Great fun.)
- Blue headband? What?
- Oreos? The Hogwarts Express didn't have any mars bars for Harry, why does this Ron get Oreos?
I'm already not looking forward to watching this musical.

Haha, it's been less than a month since I've updated! Success!
But it can't be too long today, cause I've got to work on a book report. It seems like every class at J.R. Dahling Junior High, which is my school, is reading Shakespeare, and it is so stupid and I hate it. We're reading Macbeth in my English class (My homeroom/ math/art/pain-in-the-butt teacher Ms. Kingkos deciphered that I was "credibly intelligent enough to advance past Grade Nine English, and soar up to Grade 10 English." She also felt it was necessary to call this to attention in front of my whole class, and to announce to the class that I was very proud of this. She didn't even ask me how I felt.
So now, my Grade ten English teacher (Mr.Mentil (Yes, I am serious, his last name is 'mental', although poorly spelt.)) is making us not only read Macbeth, but also watch video clips for every scene, and act out each scene in front of the class. I don't know if you've read it, but Macbeth is basically all monologues. Especially everything that Lady Macbeth says. I swear, if Lady Macbeth says one more pointless and incomprehensible thing, I'll go to my grave swearing that Nicki is her re-incarnation. Nicki actually came up to me on Monday evening after supper to "provide several tips on how to improve your general personality." She then started to say stuff like "You read too much, but socialize too little" and "You still have to choose an out of school activity so that you can be a positive influence on our community", except with so many more adjectives. She then criticized how I doodle on "good homework paper" to draw cartoon characters. Well, sorry, but it isn't my fault that I am madly obsessed with Schroeder from Peanuts. I totally understand what he says and stuff. That Lucy is just a crab, and too sickly-sweet for Schroeder. She knows nothing about Beethoven, which is very annoying for Schroeder, I can imagine.
Ivy saw one of my Schroeder drawings a few nights ago. To my surprise, she knew exactly who it was. After convincing her that I did not draw it freehand (I trace my drawings off the computer screen.) I found out that she likes the Peanuts as much as I do! Though she likes Snoopy the best, which is totally okay. She says that her friend from San Fransisco, Julie, liked Lucy a lot. I hate Julie already.
She (not Ivy, the big person that could very possibly go insane and totally goAT-AT on all of us) is apparently moving. Ivy and I have decided that we do not like moving. Use your own imagination, because I am too tired to rant.
What else? Oh, She wants us to start thinking about summer camps and stuff. I'd like to maybe go and do a play at a camp, but only if Ivy will do it with me. She's also ordering some stuff from American Girl. I am crossing my fingers that there will be converse shoes. I love my red ones and all, but I really can't wear red all the time!! :S
Book I'm Reading: Macbeth. Urgh. See above for my thoughts on Macbeth. My teacher gives us so much to pre-read for homework, that I never have time for leisurely reading anymore.
Song I'm Listening To: I've gotten Ivy into The Beatles. She's heard of them, of course, but she's never really heard much of their songs. She and I have different time periods that we like best: Ivy likes the whole 1967's-ish kind of time, with Yellow Submarine and Sgt Peppers and all that, but I'm still for 1965 , with Help! and Rubber Soul and stuff. I just think Help! (The Movie) is so zany and wacky and I can't believe that I used the word zany.
One more note: 33 1/2 MORE DAYS UNTIL GLEE!!!! I CAN'T WAIT!! I'm going to force Ivy to watch it with me. I don't care if she gets an eye infection from watching it (The Historicals get really weird infections from touching/ seeing modern stuff for too long) because I know she'll like it.
Another note: The two new girls have come. One is from the 1900s, and I don't know her too well, but she reads a lot and dresses up sometimes in weird clothes. I should really get to know her better.
The other new girl is pretty cool. I can't remember how old she is, but she seems pretty cool. I think she's just a bit shy, because she's always playing with her pet dacshund (?). But while we had an Oscar party here, Ivy, the new girl, and I all opted to skip the ceremony (Boo! to the Academy for not giving any Star Wars, Harry Potter, or Narnia movies the Best Picture, and double Boo! for giving Movie!LOTR 3 a Best Picture. The book is WAY better.) and read She's book of Movie trivia. I never knew that James Cameron had made another movie before attempting to make Avatar. But his other movie has Loser Leo in it, and I despise him. On the other hand, he might drown on the boat. Maybe I'll watch it after all.
No scrapbook tonight cause I'm just way too tired.

Valentine's Day
Like Harry Potter in Book Five, I am not a big fan of Valentine's Day. Unlike Harry Potter, it isn't because I was left by Cho Chang at Hogsmeade. If you have read my older posts, which you probably haven't because I've gotten, like, one reader, you would know that I haven't had the best luck with boys in the past. Matt, as you might know, my biggest crush, was taken by one of my "friends". And then boys started to avoid me because I was weird.
But now I feel more comfortable in my life. It's like I've escaped Mrs. Macready by escaping through the wardrobe into Narnia, where life for me is more peaceful. Hopefully I won't be having to fight any White Witches soon, ha ha! :)
But I guess I have met my Mr Tumnus: his name is Joah and I think he is as attractive as some of the Weasley boys. More so than Percy and Charlie and Fred, but on the same level as Bill and George. Ron is just a tad bit more attractive than Joah. Really, Ron is a tad bit more attractive than anyone.
She says that Joah likes bad girls. I can be bad. I've drowned so many people on Rollercoaster Tycoon Two that it's not even funny.
I hope that Joah reads this blog: if you do, Joah, I would very much to like to know you.

So the Olympics are coming up too. I have never been too much into sports, but because She lives and breathes the 2010 Winter Olympics, that kinda means we do too. But the Historical girls, they don't have to participate in the festivities. I hate being told I have to like something that I shouldn't like. It's just like in Star Wars, with me being Leia and the Olympics being Han Solo. Sure, to the untrained eye it might seem like they're madly in love, but give me LukexLeia over that Jones clone any day. Come on, you can totally see that Leia has obviously lost all feelings for Solo by the sixth movie!
Star Wars: A New Hope is almost thirty three years old! I can't believe that it has been that long since George Lucas came up with the five best space movies in history! (We'll talk about number one.) And yet this new girl, Ivy, claims she has never heard of it, even though she's from the 70s. This very much so depressed me, because when I heard that a new historical from the 70s was coming, I was ready for intense Star Wars discussion. But then Ivy came from 1976, and was all like "I don't think I would be interested in a science fiction movie, but I like your shoes." and then I forgot everything about Star Wars and now Ivy and I are best friends, along with Andi who is a bit friendlier. I guess since the soccer field has been shut down for three months because of weather, Andi has lost interest in soccer. She likes being girly now, too, which is scary. She wants to take figure skating and be in the Olympics in 2014. She also has a huge celeb crush on the boy from "Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide" and is very much into "A Series of Unfortunate Events" and "The Incredibles" because she likes the name 'Violet'.
Have to finish up, because it is past lights-out. The two Colonial girls, Felicity and Elizabeth, have moved out. The girls who have lived here longer were sad, except for Nicki. She really has no feelings I guess. She was all like: "Oh you're leaving? See you and please do not let the door hit you on the way out."
Well, I could swear she told Felicity that.
So there are seven of us now, but rumor is that She is inviting two more girls to come and live with us. I hope one of them is as intellectually stimulated as I am.
Well, I'd better sign off. Tomorrow is a day off of school, and a completely free day, because She is going to the Olympics all day long. So here we go:
1) Sit in bed and read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for the eighth time this year.
2) Play a game of Chinese Checkers and Sorry with Ivy and Andi.
3) Watch the Samantha movie with Chrissa, who has been begging for someone to watch it with. I said yes because I have the doll Nellie from the Samantha series. Oh yes, by the way, I got an American Girl doll from Elizabeth and She for Christmas. It was quite great, seeing as I have a fondness for American Girl doll collecting.
4) Probably help Nicki in the kitchen. Even though she's a total tattling brat (but shh on that because I think she likes me because I'm quiet) she does not deserve to do everything by herself.
5) Watch the Olympics on TV. Maybe they'll have a picture of Sumi.
6) Continue reading Harry Potter, then log onto She's computer and surf through Narnia wiki, Wookiepedia, etc etc. Also look at photos on AG Playthings and expand my growing wishlist.
See you for now,
Delilah
Book I'm Reading: Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone. My goal is to have it memorized by 2011.
Sing I'm listening to: None. She thinks I'm asleep, and I should be, so I'm not risking it by playing any music.
Pics for this Post:
Andi is obsessed with the name Violet because of her...

And her:

See? Isn't he 100x more attractive than the "Graffiti" guy?

Sumi: AKA the last Olympic Mascot that was left when She asked me to name my favorite: she thinks its because I'm "different", I say it's because She is obsessed.

Andi's celebrity crush. Just eww.

Just eww.

My First Bunch Meeting
Okay, sorry I have not really been keeping up. So I promised I'd tell you more about "The Bunch" meeting. Here we go:
Okay, so the 22nd is apparently an "official" meeting day, unless there's something happening. That means tomorrow is a meeting day, too.
But anyways, October 22nd was my first meeting. We all met in the sitting room, and most of us (except for Felicity and Elizabeth, the two girls who always wear fancy dresses) sat on the floor. Also, Kit brought her desk chair and a pad of paper. She called the meeting to order and everyone was quiet, even Andi, and she is quite a blabbermouth. So the first thing that happened was they introduced me to the group. Andi came up with this very stupid Rite of Entry that had me doing weird stuff to get into the group and I swear, if Glee was on, I would have bolted. I am seriously such a Gleek now it's not even funny. And I am so glad that in the show they don't put songs as if the people were talking instead of talking: I absolutely can't stand when they do that in movies. That's why I've always hated Disney: well, that and the fact that Mickey Mouse was originally a creation to overthrow the Soviet Russian Government.
Anyways, so back to the meeting. I really don't think they have any idea what they should do. I mean, its nice that they try and all, but after they introduced me into the club, they really only went around and said what they did in school. Since I started school on November 2nd (there wasn't much room at Parkington Jr High, so we had to wait until some boy left the school for Florida), I didn't really contribute to the conversation. Then after that, they just thought of different ideas for Halloween. Only four of them dressed up: Chrissa was a book character named 'Emily Bennett'; Molly was Dorothy from 'The Wizard of Oz' (again, another 'talk-singing' musical that I can't stand); Andi was a pig (fits, doesn't it? She insisted she was 'swine flu', but she was too lazy to make wings and wore all pink and a tail.) and Kit was a boy.
Then after brainstorming ideas for Halloween, the "modern" girls talked about having a "Dress Like Your Doll" sleepover. I'm not so sure what they mean when they call themselves 'modern', but Chrissa and Nicki tried to include me in their discussion and I told them that I did not have a doll, and if I did, he would be an action figure and not a doll. Chrissa understood (Or at least she pretended to) and Andi and Nicki both rolled their eyes.
I don't really get on well with Nicki or Andi. Andi was rude to me since I moved here, and Nicki and I have clashing personalities and beliefs. Nicki also thinks that she is better than I am because I have no parents to send me gifts at birthdays and Christmas. Well, she hasn't told me that to my face, but I know she is thinking it.
After their discussion, the meeting was over. I returned to my room and kept reading Harry Potter.
Okay, so that was a month ago. Since then, we've had to unfortunately downsize a lot of our rooms (including the kitchen, Felicity and Elizabeth's room, and all the alcoves) so that She has more room for Her clothes and stuff.
Parkington Jr High is better than I expected it to be. Instead of having a whole bunch of random teachers throughout the day like I thought there would be, and thus, lots and lots of homework, I've only got one teacher for everything but P.E. and Drama. Other teachers teach those.
But my regular teacher's name is Ms Gale and she is actually pretty cool. Math is easier because she doesn't rush through it, like my old math teachers did, and she also answers every question. My Grade 7 math teacher only allowed three questions in class each day. Because I sat in the back then, I would never get to ask a question, and so I got 46% on the final report card.
And in English, which used to be really hard because I would switch from school to school and never get a chance to read the class novels or do a book report, we're going to read a book called "Alice's Adventures In Wonderland". Ms Gale says that even though it may be suitable for readers under 13, it is still a 'delightful book, full of fantasy and utter randomness.'
I'm serious. My 60-ish year old teacher actually said that. It's on this notice in front of me.
I told Kit and Molly about it, because I don't like talking to Andi or Nicki, Chrissa can't read full books, and Felicity and Elizabeth had no idea what the book was, and they have both heard of it. Molly actually remembers her Dad reading it to her when she was six. She recalls that she loved it, even though she doesn't remember what happened.
It seems like every school is doing book reading in English class now. Kit is doing a book report in her Grade 4 class on Robin Hood; Molly is reading "A Little Princess" in her third grade class and Nicki is reading "Little House On The Prairie" in her sixth grade class. No, I didn't ask her personally: her friend Hailey Bailey (no relation to me) has a sister who sits next to me in school, Kailey Bailey. Kailey loves to 'gab'. It's probably because she was most certainly named after some character from Dr Seuss.
Alright, well, I've got to go and make a Christmas wishlist. One thing that's great about having a blog is the ability to go on American Girl while still pretending to be blogging. :)

P.S:
Book I'm reading: I've finished HP2, and so now I've started scrounging for more books. There are a lot of older, vintage books that belong with Molly, Felicity and Kit, and Nicki has a Babysitter Club book. Other than that, and my Harry Potter books, there's only American Girl books. I've seen them on the site, especially when I'm looking for outfits and stuff, but I've never read them. They're pretty good: I have read "Brave Emily", "Meet Samantha" and "Nellie's Promise". I'm actually reading the latter now: I actually chose it because I though Nellie looks like a princess on the cover. I dunno, but I've always been kind of obsessed with princesses and princes. I guess when I was little, I envied that though many of their parents died or something, the princess or prince would kind of charm everyone and win over the bad guy. So princesses have kind of been my idol or role model ever since I was born. I don't tell anyone that because they might think I'm weird. I know I dress differently than the other girls and like to wear mismatched socks and hi tops, so naturally they might assume that I'm kind of an outcast or a rebel. Princesses aren't very rebelly. Huh. Maybe I should read that book Molly is reading in school.
Anyways, Nellie's Promise isn't a fantasy. Well, it could actually be, I guess. How many girls live with their aunt and uncle in NYC and have their best friend adopted as a sister?
Song I'm Listening To: So happy about this. The first Glee soundtrack came out a few weeks ago and She downloaded a couple songs, not only cause she knows how much of a Gleek I am, but also cause she loves it too. So I've been listening to the mash-up of "It's My Life / Confessions, Pt. II " because Fin sings it!!! I have such an obsession over Fin it isn't funny. I'm a 'Fin-girl' haha. But seriously, I normally can't even stand Usher and don't care much for Bon Jovi, but the song is always playing in my head. Seriously, it is great. Go download it.

My Story: Part Deux
Hey guys. Well, really, hey no one, 'cause no one seems to have wanted to read about me. That's fine, whatever, I don't care. I'm just spilling my feelings to random people.
So I finished Grade 6. Surprisingly, for a girl who really never payed attention much, I got average grades. A few C-'s, a couple C's and a B, but I could have cared less. At least I passed, right?
So in July of that year, the little baby was born to Aunt and Uncle. I was very angered by it; since our big fight, Christine and Lionel (I refused to call them Aunt and Uncle after Franky was born. They no longer felt like family members to me) had basically left me to depend on myself. They made meals for three people every night, but they never told me what time dinner was, and they never asked me what I would like to eat.
The night Franky was born, I was asleep when they left. I woke up to an empty house with a note posted to the microwave, saying: "Went to hospital Baby being born Pop-tarts in pantry -Love Lionel and Christine"
So over the next three days, I stayed at home and basically watched a lot of T.V., read a few books, and went on Lionel's computer in his office. I played Rollercoaster Tycoon and named all the people Lionel, Christine, Kimmy, Penny, Summer, and Matt. Then I drowned them in the lake.
The rest of the summer was no different from when I was home alone, because Christine and Lionel spent so much time fussing over Franky. He got the flu in the beginning of August, and I remember Christine sobbing that she would lose her only baby. That night, I named all the people in my amusement park Christine, and drowned them.
At the end of August, Franky was finally better, so Lionel decided to go on a family roadtrip. And no, it wasn't like in Home Alone when Kevin's stupid parents leave him when they go away to France. I actually went on the trip, and had a decent time. We drove from Nowheresville to Oregon. On the way, we saw the Grand Canyon, the Alamo, San Diego Zoo, and Yosemite. We even drove through Hollywood, but I was too busy re-reading 'The Magician's Nephew' to notice. Besides, Hollywood reminded me of Summer's dream to become wealthy by marrying Patrick Dempsey. And also of Matt's dream to DJ parties in Beverley Hills.
My hair had grown into a weird, shoulder length version of my homemade haircut by then. Christine surprised me by taking me into a really ritzy hair salon in Portland to get it fixed. It cost about $300 and all the hairdresser did was shampoo, snip, and style. Lionel said it was a rip-off, but Christine said it was worth it, because she thought I looked super. After that, we all went out for ice cream at this huge ice cream place in Oregon, and I got the "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" smoothie, which I can remember distinctly: it was all sorbet, with raspberry on the bottom, then strawberry, then mango, then lemon. It came in a silver plastic goblet, which I left back in Oregon. The straw was lightning bolt shaped, but I lost that, too. The whole smoothie, including the cup and straw, was $16, but Christine and Lionel didn't care.
The end of the trip and Grade 7 came too soon. I had tried to convince Lionel and Christine to let me switch schools, but they wouldn't let me. Not because they were being mean or anything, but because the only other middle school was 45 minutes from our house, and had 825 students in Grade 7 alone. I figured that I had switched schools enough, anyways, so I stayed at Washington Middle School.
Grade 7 actually started out pretty well. A new school year meant new Grade 6s, which meant that Kimmy, Penny and Summer had new girls to pick on. And Matt had moved to South Dakota, apparently, so there was no more teasing from him. In November, a nice family moved in next door to our house. The mom worked with Christine, and they had a 6 month old baby. Best of all, they had a girl in Grade 7 and a son in grade 8. Both of the older kids were really friendly.
So Mekayla and I became best friends at school. She had come from a really big school where there were about 30 girls like Kimmy, Summer and Penny, so she was unfazed by their teasing. One thing Mekayla couldn't stand, however, was Summer's endless flirting with Mekayla's older brother, Logan. Mekayla and Logan were very close, and Mekayla felt very protective of her big brother. She saw how Summer would treat the Grade sixes daily, and didn't want Logan's heart to get broken by Summer.
Luckily for both of them, I guess, Logan never seemed interested in Summer. He saw them as lowly, which stunned a lot of the guys, who worshiped the three girls. So Logan really had no guy friends, and decided to join the school's drama club with me and Mekayla.
Grade 7 was great. Our school's drama presentation, by the way, was "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown"; it might seem kind of kiddish, but I actually really kind of liked it. I originally wanted the part of Linus, the little kid with the blanket who's always got something smart to say, but I got to be in the Chorus. Luckily, so was Mekayla, so at least I had a friend with me. Logan, however, got the role of Linus, which I was so happy he did: until Penny, fashion designer-veterinarian-ballerina-nurse-stay at home mom-actress wannabe, wound the drama teacher around her finger and landed Linus' part, only so that I'd confront her about it and stick up for Logan. But, she got the flu the week before the performance, so Logan got his role back. He did a great job, but I would have to say the best performance was by Phillip. He played Schroeder so well that it was like watching the comic strips. It was because of his portrayal that I started my obsession with Schroeder from Peanuts.
Then, on the closing night, Lionel and Christine decided to announce at my celebratory dinner at Red Robin, that Franky was going to have a sister. At first, I was like: "Yeah, I'm right here.", until Christine announced she was expecting another baby. I got really confused and felt hurt.
Mekayla and Logan helped me get out of my state of confusion. I spent a lot of time at their house for the next two months. I stayed in Mekayla's room a lot, just talking and stuff. I don't remember much arguing or anything, but one afternoon, Mekayla and I were sprawled around her room, talking about Grade 8, when Logan burst into her room. He told Mekayla to stay in her room, and me to go home. I was confused, but did as I was told.
Mekayla's mom and dad split up that night. Logan went with his mother, who changed her job from accountant to travel agent, and now travels around the world. Mekayla stayed with her Dad, who moved to Ontario, in Canada. I keep in touch with both of them on a regular basis: Mekayla goes to a Christian High School in Ontario, because they're free there, and Logan is homeschooled. He's in Russia right now, and he sent me a nesting doll at the beginning of October.
Anyways, after Mekayla and Logan moved away, I was really angry with my life. I couldn't escape to the Oak Street Theaters again: all they were playing was Transformers 2, which was Logan's favorite movie, and I couldn't bear to see it without thinking of him or his sister. Christine and Lionel were in talks of moving to Idaho, where Christine's parents (who weren't even related to me) lived. One night in late August, we held a meeting.
"We've decided to move to Idaho with Franky. Would you like to come with us?" Lionel had asked. I asked him if I could think it over. He said of course I could.
Now, I had learned a few weeks before that from my school guidance counselor that the best way for me to handle tough decisions was to solve it. She suggested using a Pro\ Cons list, so that's what I did about the move to Idaho.
-PROS-
*Live with Grandparent figures.
*Maybe make new friends
-CONS-
*Feel awkward all the time, being stuck between the grown ups and the babies.
*Be forced to babysit all the time.
*Feel lonely and like a burden, depending on people who I am not related to.
As you can see by the list, I am not a cheerful person when I am sad. I get very moody.
So eventually, I decided that I would not like to move to Idaho. Somehow, through one of Christine's cousin's neighbour's sister's niece's friend's mother's, who lived in Pennsylvania, Christine heard of this house where there were all girls my age: like a boarding house, only less strict, you could say.
So she phoned up Miss J, and she said that they would be delighted for me to come. They had just had one of their boarders move away, so my space would be much appreciated.
So we took a roadtrip again. There were no tourist stops, just straight from Nowheresville to Pleasantville. It took 11 hours, and Franky was crying when we got there. Lionel stayed with Franky in the car to calm him down, while Christine took me into the house. We met Miss J, and some of the girls (the others were asleep). It seemed like a better place to live than Nowheresville. So Christine hugged me good-bye, and told me she was only a state away if I needed her.
So that is really how I got here.
Oh, one of the younger girls (Muffy, or Molly, I can't remember her name) has asked me if I want to come to their meeting of "The Bunch". I don't know what that is, but I guess I'll find out!
-Delilah Bailey
Book I'm Reading: Still Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets. (Chapter 13: The Very Secret Diary. LOL at Ginny's Valentine. I hate her in the books after this one, but she's super funny in this one! :) )
Song I'm Listening Too: None right now, but Miss J wants me to get off o she can watch A Very Potter Musical. I don't like the film versions of Harry Potter very much, and if the musical is based on any of those, I know I won't like it. I would rather listen to the radio with the three littler girls.
So I finished Grade 6. Surprisingly, for a girl who really never payed attention much, I got average grades. A few C-'s, a couple C's and a B, but I could have cared less. At least I passed, right?

So, here I am. Whatever.
Hey,
So, I dunno if any of you readers are aware, but, um, this girl Daph or whatever, moved out. Yeah, she, like, lived here for a bit, then she just decided to move in with her aunt in New Mexico or whatever. Her sister Chrissa is really super bummed, but 'cause she's, like, seven, the only thing she really cares about is why she had a birthday last Friday and how there are no presents for her yet. The girl here, idk what to call her, some of you might know her as kitkittredge and the other girls call her "Mommy" or "Miss J", has been super busy with stuff.
So I guess I'm allowed to take this blog. It should be kinda fun, you know, 'cause I've got a lot of stuff to say. Like how I am really angered by my new school, because I've got to wait until November to start. I'm going to go to Parkington Junior High School, which is connected to the High School. There's too many Grade 8s, so I have to wait until one of them leaves. It's the same school that Nicki, this girl who lives here, goes to. Chrissa, Molly, Kit and Andi all go to River Elementary, and Felicity and Elizabeth go to some prissy academy called "Mount Bedford Academy For Girls" and they take all these snooty lessons and wear all these snooty dresses. But more about them later. First, I guess I'd better tell you about myself.
My name is Delilah Bailey. Since I was born, I've lived with my aunt and uncle, both of whom are travellers and just "go with the wind", as they say. My Mom, who was my uncle's older sister, died in childbirth, and so my uncle and aunt named me, and took me home. They've always given me a choice of what I want to be called. During Elemetary school, I liked the name "Lola", and so I went by that, until I grew out of my "I Want To Be An Actress" phase. When I started middle school two years ago, life kind of changed. First of all, in October of that year, my Aunt announced that she was going to have a baby. The announcement was really shocking to me, because I had always thought that I was like their child, and by having another baby, I felt like they were basically saying "Oh, now that you're all grown-up and in high school, we want a cute kid."
It was at that point in my life that I stopped acting bratty. Like I said, my Aunt and Uncle were big movers, so by the time I started Grade One, I had already been to 4 elementay schools. The longest I ever stayed was 8 months during Grade Three, at a school in Michigan called "Kurtz Elementary". So I had figured that the easiest way to make friends was to act smart and popular, just like my favorite character on T.V., Kate Saunders from Lizzie McGuire. Everyone seemed to like her; except Lizzie, who I didn't like.
So, from Grade One until Grade Five, with every school I went to, I always had an elaborate story: that my parents, both rich heirs, had died tragically on our private airplane. I was the only person left alive from the crash that killed one hundred people, and went to live with my uncle and aunt who made pretty clothes for a living. Another story was that I was forced to leave my last school because the principal was worried the other kids would become jealous of my popularity and wealth.
Surprisingly, it worked. Every school I went to, there was always at least 5 kids who believed me, felt bad for me\ wanted to get free stuff, and followed me everywhere. In Grade Two, there was even a group of girls who would follow me into the bathroom. I told the teacher, who thought they were bullying me. The girls were suspended, and I was gone before they came back.
But when I had started Grade Six, a whoel bunch of things happened. First of all, my uncle and aunt decided that a permanent move to Nowheresville, Middle-of-U.S.A. was the perfect place for me to attend school. So, we moved there two months before the end of Grade Five, and all the way up until last August.
I had earned a small group of friends during the last months of Grade 5. Kimmy, Penny, and Summer were all miniature stereotypical High School popular girls, but were also all dumber than doorknobs, and instantly believed that I was a poor girl who would inherit my parent's vast fortune once I turned 15. All throughout the summer, I practically lived at Kimmy's house, as did the other girls. She not only had a pool, but a trampoline and a smoothie bar. She also had a big room, with a giant closet. I grew very close to the girls, Summer especially. We were "Summer and Lola: Best Friends 4ever"
The last two weeks of August that year, my Uncle and Aunt took me to Washington D.C. We went to the Smithsonian, saw the Monuments, and even went for a road trip to New York. I had recently discovered e-mail, and so the first part of the trip, Summer, Penny, Kimmy and I regularly had 4-way Instant Messaging, talking about things like boys, clothes, and how we would do our hair for the first day of school. But then, I had forgotten about checking my e-mail for the rest of the trip. Instead, I focused on hanging out with my aunt, who I had come to know as a major influence. She and I went shopping, watched movies, talked; she was like a mother to me.
On the first day of school, she took the day off work to help me get ready. I wore a really cute outfit that we had spent all of the day before looking for, and she set waves in my hair, which was my pride and joy; I had grown it since Grade Two, and had grown to the middle of my back. I was so proud of my hair.
But when I got to school that day, and I found Kimmy, Penny and Summer, they ignored me. They laughed and talked about me behind my back. It was just horrible. Then came my Aunt's baby news. I couldn't stand it. Not only had I lost my friends, I had lost my family, too. So I started to try to shut the world out. I stopped doing homework, and started writing in my journal. I wrote really nasty and hurtful stuff about everyone I could think of nightly.
I also threw out all my Britney CD's, and Spice Girl CD's. One night, I remember it was in mid-November, I just got so upset with my life. It had been my first school dance. I had gotten ready all by myself, bought my ticket with my own money, and I even borrowed some of my Aunt's makeup. It was all to impress a 7th grader boy named Matt Stone, who I thought was cute and who I had talked to multiple times in the hallway. I had a crush on him, and, out of silly sixth grader thoughts, was pretty sure he liked me, too. For instance, one day in late October, he had come up to me and said that he really like my long hair. So I was hoping that at that school dance, Matt would ask me to dance. Unfortunately, Kimmy had heard about my crush, and when I went up to ask Matt to dance with me before the slow song had started, I saw Kimmy kissing Matt next to the vending machine. I know that she didn't like him; she was always commenting how stupid he looked in his vintage T-Shirts.
I ran all the way home that night, then stomped up the stairs, and slammed the door fiercly. Sobbing, I pulled open my desk drawer, and pulled out my red scissors. I looked into the mirror, and with two snips, my beautiful, long brown hair was laying on the ground, in a mess. The other kids at school, including Matt, would tease me about my uneven hair for the next three months after that. My hair seemed as if it didn't want to grow back, as if it were against me, too. The worst part about my hair-cutting fiasco, though, was that my aunt and uncle were so busy getting ready for their child that they didn't even notice that I had cut my hair until February. Then I was punished severley, and the three of us argued loudly. I remember that that was the time when I actually got so mad that I told them that I wished their baby would die before being born. And before anything could happen, I ran off to the movie theaters, which had become a place of refuge for me.
The Oak Street Theaters was a small place. It had been open since the 50s, and was supposedly built as a 3-D theater. It was the kind of theater that showed movies that had gone out of theaters a while ago. There was really no kind of authority there: people were free to walk in and out of movies whenever they pleased. That night, ironically, they were showing Juno, a movie about a girl who is pregnant. I'm not saying it's my favorite movie, but I thought that Juno was really sweet, and for the next two weeks that Oak Street theaters played it, I visited every day. Sometimes, I would leave at lunch and skip my study class. Kids would come up with rumors that I went out to drink or smoke or cut myself. I was against those rumors; not only because I never did any of those, but also because I saw those as unfair stereotypes that they shouldn't have been using as negative portrayals.
After Juno had ended its showing in March, I stuck to my bedroom a lot. I also spent a lot of time in the library. It was there where I discovered fantasy novels: Harry Potter, Narnia, you know.
To this day, I love fantasy novels. They aren't just books to me: they are doorways to different lands. I can't read a book like "Twilight", because that isn't set in an alternate universe. It's set somewhere where I feel that I could go and still get bullied by other girls.
Well, I've got to go. This has been fun. I promise I'll update more, cause I want to tell you guys more about me, and about the other girls here.
Yours truly,
Delilah Bailey
